Rated “good to very good” twice: Decotec vinyl floors tested
Glue down or click? Many people laying a new floor face this question. For its issue 5/26, the German trade magazine HEIMWERKER PRAXIS tested one floor of each installation type from the Decotec range: the glue-down vinyl floor Natural Oak and the rigid click vinyl floor Rustic Oak.
Glue-down vinyl Natural Oak: overall grade 1.3
The 2.5 mm glue-down vinyl floor with a 0.7 mm wear layer impressed in the practical test with its robust properties. It achieved a grade of 1.3 each for resistance to mishaps, sound insulation and surface properties. As a downside, the testers mention the full-surface bonding, which requires careful work and some experience – in return, you get a high-quality, hard-wearing floor.
Rigid click vinyl Rustic Oak: overall grade 1.4
The 4.5 mm rigid click floor with a 0.55 mm wear layer scores above all in installation: the click system is easy to handle and quickly leads to a clean result. The testers also liked its pleasant sound; sound insulation and surface each received a grade of 1.3.
The editors’ verdict
According to HEIMWERKER PRAXIS, both Decotec floors deliver good to very good performance – each with a price-performance ratio rated “good – very good”.
German grading scale: 1 = very good, 6 = insufficient.
